We have news….

…I’m slowly but surely kissing goodbye to my waistline, but somewhere around the middle of January I will get to kiss hello to something altogether more exciting…. yes, Dan and I are expecting the littlest Glazier and the first to be born since Dan, which as we all know was a loooong time ago!!

We will not be finding out the gender beforehand, and we will not be divulging which names we are considering.  Thanks, though, to Uncle Jason for putting a bug in our ear about Jason or Jasona!!

And because no pregnancy announcement is complete without the obligatory fuzzy ultrasound, here’s one that was taken about 6 weeks ago. For the first time in my life I actually know what this shows! And now you all know that I’m not still 29 after all…

JTI Workshop

In June I had the pleasure of attending a 2-day workshop by Johnny Tran, a ridiculously talented Calgary photographer who was extremely generous with his knowledge and experience – and with sharing all his cool stuff!  Of course, the cost of the workshop is immaterial compared to the cost of all the new gadgets that are now on my wish list!  I hope you can see that it really made a difference to my photography though.  Johnny – thank you for being so passionate and inspiring – and thank also to our fabulous models – Kim, Rebecca & Vedran, and Ginelle & Chris.

Cara & Brad’s Wedding

Cara & Brad had a perfect day for their beautiful Banff wedding, which is only fitting for a couple so perfectly matched.  It was evident not only in the way they looked at each other, for as I enjoyed their slideshow later that evening, depicting their lives individually and as a couple, it was clear to me – who had never met either of them before their wedding day – that they are truly meant to be together.

I was again proud to second shoot for Shawna Coates.

Bobbi & Eric’s Wedding

The one thing that really struck me as the day of Bobbi and Eric’s wedding progressed was that this was not just the unity of two people, but truly the coming together of two families, who are clearly crazy about each other despite the fact that Bobbi and Eric come from different sides of the continent.

It was a privilege to witness and to photograph their special day.  Here’s a sample. Bobbi & Eric, thanks for your patience and for giving me this opportunity.

Rachel & James’ Wedding, 9-May-09

Rachel and James were married on a showery day, but they didn’t let a few raindrops dampen their mood and happily dodged the showers by hanging out with their hilarious bridal party in the Hummer limo!

Once again I was thrilled to accompany Shawna Coates.

I know, I know….. I have been awful.  Truth be told, with all the field work I have been doing this winter, I haven’t even picked up my camera since the end of December.  gasp!!

Fortunately for me, my first subject of the year was the always-photogenic Gus.

Hayley & Lewis’ Wedding, 30-Dec-08

On 30th December Hayley and Lewis were married in a beautiful ceremony and I was once again privileged to accompany Shawna Coates as her second shooter. There’s something really special about winter weddings – although it was a tad on the cold side for outside portraits! Congratulations to Hayley & Lewis – I’m sure everyone will agree you make a lovely couple.

Mercury falling

This may not be the coldest temperature I have experienced, but it's unusual for December in Calgary...

I love our house on its corner lot, but when you have to spend an hour and a half digging and shovelling snow in -20C, a leeeeeetle regret creeps in!!

Petra hates her booties, but she'd hate frostbitten puppy-dog toes even more!! Plus, I get a kick out of the funny way she walks with them on.

I spent a couple of fun hours in the company of John and his mum & dad last Sunday.  What a gorgeous wee boy!

Anyone who doesn’t know that you can use the calculator as a phone just doesn’t know the things that John knows…
